Two Interpreters will accompany each group on a field trip. Museum Interpreters are trained in Emergency First Aid and CPR and will have a first aid kit and cellular phone with them. One Interpreter will be at the front and one at the back of the group.
Before leaving, Interpreters will advise the front desk staff of tour location, departure time and expected return time in writing. If the group cannot return at the specified time, the Interpreters will contact the museum.
Upon arriving at the site, the Interpreters will review all safety regulations with the group while teachers and chaperones are asked to help enforce these regulations. In discussion with the teacher, the Interpreters reserve the right to restrict access to areas or to cancel the field trip where field conditions or poor behaviour compromises the students’ safety.
