About Our Opportunity
The position of Facilities Support Worker will be a temporary opportunity for a minimum of three months. This is a full-time, hourly, temporary position and includes weekends and holidays, as the facility is open seven day per week. Schedule will be available upon hire.
Qualified candidates will have completed high school or equivalent, be comfortable with responsibility, possess experience and/or education in building systems management and building and grounds maintenance, and a willingness to learn. Knowledge of similar systems in the Museum will be considered an asset. They will have the capacity to take initiative and work well independently as well as with a small group of experienced staff members. They will be a professional person with stellar work ethics and have the ability to get along well with people of various personalities and backgrounds. The successful candidate must pass satisfactory criminal record and child abuse registry documentation.
The Fundy Geological Museum is responsible for the collecting and recording of paleontological and geological specimens that have significance to Nova Scotia as well as promoting Nova Scotia's natural landscape. This year we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Fundy Geo Museum, a part of the Nova Scotia Museum.
